French Beef Bourguignon In A Slow Cooker......

An excellent french dish !

















Ingredients :

4 to 5 slices bacon,
2 pounds nice quality beef, cubed,
1/2 pound pearl onions,
4 medium carrots, sliced,
16 ounces mushrooms, quartered,
3/4 teaspoon marjoram,

1 teaspoon thyme,

4 tablespoons parsley,
4 cloves garlic minced,
1 bay leaf,
3 cups red wine,
1 cup beef broth,
1/2 cup Cognac,
2 tablespoons tomato paste,
1/4 cup flour,


Add the beef to a glass bowl and add pearl onions, carrots, marjoram, thyme, garlic, red wine, Cognac, then stir and cover. Let this marinate for at least all night in the refrigerator.
In a skillet cook
, 4 to 5 slices of bacon and cut the bacon into pieces. Clean and quarter the mushrooms.
In a slow cooker, add the meat mixture the bacon pieces, thyme, marjoram,
mushrooms, red wine, cognac and beef broth.
Add tomato paste, bay leaf, parsley, Stir everything together, then cover.
30 minutes before the end add the flour, season with salt and pepper then stir and cover.
Stew can cook for between 4 and 8 hours depending on when you want to serve it.
Serve with mashed potatoes, nuddles or rice.


And enjoy !


Never season with salt and pepper the meat before it is cooked otherwise it will become very hard !
